In-vitro fertilization also known as IVF involves the fertilization of a human egg cell in the laboratory and implanting the embryo or the fertilized egg in the uterus or womb of the woman to have regular pregnancy and birth.Every now and then, an embryo that results from an in-vitro fertilization is frozen to be used later for IVF implantation.
In vitro fertilization is a procedure for women who usually have a difficulty getting pregnant.This procedure helps them to conceive a child and have a normal term of pregnancy.This procedure can also be used to prevent transmitting of hereditary illnesses.Fertilization takes place not in a test tube but in a small container called a perti dish.
Test tube baby is the most famous name for the baby that resulted from an in-vitro fertilization.There are procedures that you have to take to produce a test tube baby.The first would be the collecting the eggs from the woman.But before they are to be collected, the woman has to take special medicines to stimulate her ovulation.When the eggs are now ripe, the surgeon performs an operation to extract them.
The next phase in IVF implantation includes that of fertilizing the egg and its development in the laboratory.After the egg has been removed, they are taken straight to the laboratory, where they are placed in a special fluid for six hours.Then the male partner or a sperm donor provides a sperm specimen.This must happen four hours after the eggs are collected.The sperm should be washed and incubated well.They are then placed together with the eggs and left for about eighteen hours.In following the procedure, the eggs are then observed if fertilization has taken place.They are all returned to culture for about 24 hours.
Following the in-vitro fertilization method, the grown fertilized egg will then be transferred into the woman's uterus.For minimizing the risk of multiple pregnancies, only a few of the eggs are returned to the woman.
